CHILDREN in Northwich will not have to miss out on meeting Father Christmas this year.
While coronavirus means Santa's plans look a little different this year, he will still be making time in his busy pre-Christmas schedule to chat to little ones from across town.
He won't be at his usual grotto in Barons Quay this year, but with a little help from his friends at Rotary in Northwich, Father Christmas will be available to chat online using the Zoom video calling app.
Families can book a slot to talk to Santa on Fridays and Saturdays in the run-up to Christmas, with slots starting next week.
More slots could be added if demand is high and Santa can find spare time in his hectic diary.

Father Christmas is also hoping to spread some festive cheer next month with his usual sleigh ride across town.
Unlike in previous years, he won't be able to stop on his route, but families will still be able to wave from their front gardens as Santa passes by.
Rotary will be raising vital funds for local charities as part of the occasion, with contactless card readers as well as donations via Paypal or text message.

Alternatively, text 1SANTA to donate £1, 2SANTA to donate £2, 5SANTA to donate £5 or TOSANTA followed by the number you wish to donate in pounds, to 70470.
Service providers may also charge for sending the text.
