SHAMEFUL thieves have stolen a hugely popular Remembrance Day poppy projector from a churchyard in Northwich.
The image of the poppy being projected on to the tower of St Helen's Parish Church, was one of the shining symbols during this year's time of remembrance.
With Remembrance Services cancelled across the country, Northwich provided its residents with a beautiful light show as a way of paying tribute to those that fought and lost their lives at war.
However, at some point overnight on Sunday into Monday, thieves pulled down the protective fencing and stole both the projector and the stand it sits on.
The projector was being left in position to be used for another purpose and the church have said how much they want it back to be able to continue to support the community.
Northwich Town Council tweeted: "Over the weekend the spotlight that was put in place to commemorate Remembrance Day has been stolen from St Helens Churchyard.
If you have any information could you please contact Northwich Police."
