POLICE in Warrington say they will step up patrols to tackle Halloween-related anti-social behaviour after being called to 23 incidents during 'Mischief Night'.

Officers attended 23 incidents relating to anti-social behaviour and criminal damage being caused to vehicles.

Among the incidents was a vehicle being tipped on to its roof in Chapelford.

Meanwhile, police last night issued a dispersal order for the area of Dakota Park, which will run until 7pm on Sunday, November 1 after the area was a "hotspot" for anti-social behaviour last night.

In a statement, officers said: "Warrington Police will be out tonight to tackle ASB issues relating to Hallowe'en (Operation Treacle).

"Last night we have had 23 incidents reported relating to ASB/Damage to vehicles.

"Parents please be aware of where your children are. Any offences committed will be dealt with robustly."

It added: "A Dispersal order for Dakota Park area will be in force from 7pm Friday, October 30 to 7pm Sunday, November 1 as this was a hotspot for ASB last night.

"This gives police powers to direct individuals to leave that area and not return within 48 hours. Should they do so they commit an offence and can be arrested.

"In addition, Warrington is currently a Tier 3 Covid restriction area. Individuals meeting in groups of more than six commit an offence."
