NEW figures from Cheshire West and Chester Council show which areas of Northwich and Winsford have seen an increase in Covid cases in the past week.

The latest seven-day figures available from the council cover the period from October 14 to 20 – the first week of the borough’s Tier 2 coronavirus lockdown.

Across the two towns, Over and Verdin in Winsford had the highest number of new cases during that week, while Dene in Winsford had the highest infection rate per 100,000 people.

In Northwich, Marbury had the highest number of cases, while Leftwich saw its number of coronavirus cases almost triple in the space of a week to give it the town’s highest infection rate.

  • Rudheath – eight cases (146.44); nine cases (164.74)
  • Shakerley – seven cases (139.22); 14 cases (278.44)
  • Weaver and Cuddington – 20 cases (139.69); 18 cases (125.72)
  • Winnington and Castle – 16 cases (188.3); 13 cases (153)

WINSFORD

  • Dene – 18 cases (408.26); 13 cases (294.85)
