SUNDAY marks World Pasta Day, so we decided to take a look at the best places to savour the Italian cuisine in Northwich, Winsford and Middlewich.

Northwich Guardian:

Turturici, 9-13 Church Street, Davenham

The number one rated Italian restaurant in the area according to Tripadvisor, Turturici is a family run affair and there is no better time to visit as they have recently just re-opened their doors after a full refurb during lockdown.

With an array of pasta dishes on the menu, including Tortelloni di Maiale (homemade, roasted pork shoulder parcels, sage butter) Rigatoni con Salsiccia (sicilian sausage, tomato, parmesan shavings) and Paccheri all’Aragosta (half lobster, prawns, chilli, cherry tomatoes) there is something for the most discerning of taste buds.

They have also just started a brand new take away service, so there really is no excuse not to enjoy some of the best pasta around.

Northwich Guardian:

Il Padrino, Wheelock Street, Middlewich

This classic family-run Italian restaurant right in the heart of Middlewich is another in the area that sits high on the Tripadvisor list, coming in at number five.

With amazing half-moon booths, the name literally translates to The Godfather, and there's every chance you'll feel like you're in a movie, such is the ambience of this place.

As well as the all-time classic pasta dishes, Il Padrino offers plenty of other options, including Penne Alla Genovese (penne pasta served with pesto, parmesan, cherry tomatoes, pine nuts, topped with rocket leaves & parmesan shavings), Linguine Polpette (with meatballs in garlic, chilli, basil, tomato sauce & olives) and Ravioli Aragosta (stuffed with lobster, cooked in a creamy tomato sauce with baby prawns & garlic).

Northwich Guardian:

Wildwood, Barons Quay, Northwich

It's not always about finding the all-out classically Italian restaurants to obtain your pasta fix these days, with this modern establishment offering plenty of tasty options.

Whether it be the classic bolognese or the oven baked lasagne, there is also Spicy Prawn Spaghetti, Peri-Peri Chicken Penne, Spaghetti Chorizo Carbonara to the show stopping Spaghetti Polpette, which comes with meatballs in a rich red wine based tomato sauce.
