ROADWORKS will cause some delays and disruption to drivers across Northwich this week, with a number of projects either ongoing or due to begin.
Here is a round up of planned roadworks which will affect motorists around town.
A559 Chester Road, Hartford
Drivers will be faced with three sets of roadworks along Chester Road this week.
Temporary traffic lights are due to be installed today near the junction with Walnut Lane and will remain until Friday while United Utilities carries out engineering work.
United Utilities will also be carrying out work near the junction with Beach Grove on Wednesday, and temporary traffic lights are set to be in place.
Temporary traffic lights will also be in place near Beach Grove from Friday until November 5, while Scottish Power carries out engineering work.
A559 Chesterway and Percy Street
A major gas pipe upgrade project from engineers at Cadent is expected to come to an end on Thursday following more than two weeks’ disruption.
One lane will remain closed on the westbound carriageway near Percy Street, while Percy Street itself will be closed.
A533 Winnington Lane, Winnington
Temporary traffic lights will remain in place at the junction with Winnington Avenue until October 30 while Cadent engineers carry out work in the area.
A559 Marston Lane, Marston
Temporary traffic lights were installed yesterday and will remain in place at the junction with the B5075 Ollershaw Lane until October 27 while Cadent engineers carry out work in the area.
A49 Weaverham Bypass and Station Road, Weaverham
Temporary traffic lights will be in place at the junction on Tuesday and Wednesday while National Grid cut down mature trees beneath overhead power lines.
The roadworks are expected to affect drivers on the A49 on Tuesday and then drivers on Station Road the following day.
A530 King Street, Rudheath
Long-running roadworks north of the King Street roundabout at the A556 are due to come to an end on Friday following more than a month’s disruption.
Temporary traffic lights will remain in place while a new pedestrian crossing is developed.
B5153 Northwich Road, Weaverham
Motorists will be hit with two sets of roadworks along Northwich Road this Week.
Temporary traffic lights have been installed today and will remain in place until Wednesday near Weaverham Primary Academy while BT engineers carry out work.
Then from Wednesday to Friday, there will be roadworks taking place near the junction with Wallerscote Road while Cadent gas engineers carry out work.
B5153 Bradburns Lane, Hartford
Temporary traffic lights have been installed at the junction with School Lane today and will remain in place until November 20 while Cadent gas engineers carry out work.
B5082 Holmes Chapel Road, Lach Dennis
Ongoing roadworks near the junction with Common Lane are due to come to an end on Wednesday.
Temporary traffic lights will remain in place until then while United Utilities carries out engineering work.
School Lane, Hartford
Temporary traffic lights are due to be installed on Friday and remain until November 5 while Scottish Power engineers carry out work near the junction with Old Vicarage Lane.
London Road, Leftwich
Temporary traffic lights will remain in place near the junction with Grainger’s Road until Friday while United Utilities engineering work takes place.
Hill Top Road, Acton Bridge
Temporary traffic lights will be in place on Wednesday and Thursday south of the junction with Old Lane while BT engineers carry out work.
Mill Lane, Cuddington
A small stretch of Mill Lane will be closed near to the junction with Norley Road until Wednesday while United Utilities work is carried out.
Weaverham Road, Cuddington
Temporary traffic lights will be in place from today to Friday near to the Methodist Church while Scottish Power engineers carry out work.
Weaver Road, Castle
The full length of Weaver Road will remain closed until Friday as Scottish Power carries out engineering works.
