CREATIVE minds in Northwich are invited to submit poems, songs or photographs that celebrate the town and its community.

Northwich BID has launched the Northwich Creates Together campaign to champion creativity and community spirit – and it wants as many people to get involved as possible.

Residents are being asked to submit photos during and after lockdown which showcase Northwich and its community.

This could include socially distanced walks, fun in the garden, life working from home or pictures from when life began to look a bit more normal in the summer months.

The BID is also looking for people to submit a song or poem which highlights positive aspects of Northwich.

These could be about anything such as a brilliant business, a cherished memory or a favourite place to spend time in town.

The most emotive song will feature in a video to be released later in the year alongside a collection of entries from the photo competition.

Jane Hough, programme manager at Northwich BID, said: “Although we have been going through some tough times over the past few months, the community spirit in Northwich has always been prevalent.

“Northwich Creates Together celebrates this in a creative way.

“The campaign will not only highlight the great aspects of Northwich, from businesses, bars and shops to greenspaces, heritage attractions and parks, but it will also demonstrate the strength our community has shown during the pandemic.”
