MARSHALL’S House in Knutsford could host the return of a photographic exhibition launched in 2013 and repeated in 2014.

Knutsfordian was launched by the Promote Knutsford Forum and repeated the following year as Knutsfordian II.

The exhibitions celebrated individuals from the community; in 2013 this was independent town centre business owners and in 2014 figures from the community such as the May Queen and a local minister.

Participants were photographed by local photographer Paul Worpole, with a canvas printed of each portrait.

The canvases were revealed at a launch evening and exhibited for five days for the public to enjoy. Following the exhibition the canvases were purchased by the participants.

Discussions have taken place between the town council and Paul Worpole about how the exhibition could be brought back in 2021 to again celebrate the business community and to bring footfall into the town centre to support local businesses.

The exhibition would take place in spring 2021, with dates to be confirmed.

Depending on venue availability the portraits could be displayed in a multi-day exhibition open to the public to attend and staffed by volunteers, which could bring footfall into the town centre.

The town centre and marketing officer has approached GGM Properties, the new owner of Marshall’s House, to discuss the building as a potential venue for the exhibition.
