FIONA Bruce has challenged the Government on Covid-19 testing following a number of issues faced by her constituents.

The Conservative MP for Congleton raised the problems faced by residents in Parliament to Matt Hancock, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.

She asked him what steps he is taking to increase the availability of Covid-19 tests for people in her constituency, which includes Middlewich and Holmes Chapel.

Mrs Bruce also asked what steps he is taking to reduce the distance people in her constituency must travel to a Covid-19 testing centre.

Finally, she asked what steps Mr Hancock is taking to ensure the closure of a coronavirus testing centre is communicated to people travelling to attend a pre-booked test at that centre in England, and in the Congleton constituency.

Mrs Bruce submitted the questions via Written Parliamentary Questions, and the Department for Health and Social Care indicated they would be answered as soon as possible.

She said: “I look forward to hearing the answer to these important questions.

“A number of my constituents have struggled to access Covid-19 tests locally and it is vital that this is rectified as soon as possible.”
