Could Oscar be the superstar of your home?

Name: Oscar

Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross

Age: 9 months

Oscar is a very young boy and finds daily life wonderful and exciting – so he is always ready for an adventure.

He is a beautiful bundle of energy and he loves to be on the go, so he is looking for active owners who will greet the day with the same amount of joy he does, before heading out to explore new places and meet new people.

Wirral Globe: Oscar finds everything exciting and is hoping that his new owners love life as much as he doesOscar finds everything exciting and is hoping that his new owners love life as much as he does

As he is young he would benefit from being taught the basics so his new owners would need to enjoy keeping this young boys’ brain busy and doing training with him.

Georgina Lowery, Manager at Dogs Trust Merseyside, says: “In these difficult times you can guarantee that Oscar will bring a smile to your face, which is lovely.

"He is so energetic, always on the lookout for something to do and someone to play with, so we’re really hoping it won’t be too long before we can find him his forever home.”

Oscar will need an adult only home with no other pets and he is still learning how to behave around other dogs so his new owners, with the help of the Dogs Trust team, will need to help him improve his doggie skills.

He is happy to travel in a car in a crate so his family will need a car big enough to accommodate him so he can travel in style and safety. Oscar would like to meet his forever family a few times before heading home.

Their rehoming centres are not open for public browsing, but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog in. New processes have been set up, which include social distancing measures to help keep staff and visitors safe.

Dogs Trust estimates that up to 40,000 more dogs could be at risk of abandonment in the fallout of the coronavirus crisis.
