WITTON Albion will head to Radcliffe in the Pitching In Northern Premier League on Saturday, kick-off 3pm, still seeking their first win of the new season.

Carl Macauley's side bowed out of the FA Cup at Northern League outfit Whitley Bay on Tuesday night, following on from a league opening home loss to Whitby Town on Saturday.

Albion were in contention until the final whistle in the FA Cup First Qualifying Round tie in the north east before falling 3-2.

Witton's cause was not helped when they were reduced to 10 men midway through the second period.

Danny McKenna was issued with a red card for handball inside the penalty area.

Full-back Jamie Dunn fired home the spot kick, his second goal of the tie, to put the hosts 3-1 in front at that stage.

But Josh Wardle clawed a goal back with his first competitive goal in an Albion shirt with five minutes remaining.

Bay held firm though to progress.

The hosts got a perfect start to the game as Dunn found the net after three minutes direct from a free kick just outside the penalty area.

Albion were back on level terms 10 minutes later, again from a set piece.

Will Jones smashed in a stunning effort from 25 yards.

After a bright start to the second half, Albion found themselves behind once more on 53 minutes when Lewis Orrell turned home Mark Robinson's cross from 10 yards.

That goal and McKenna's exit paved the way for Witton's exit at the first hurdle and focus switches back to the league at Radcliffe on Saturday and then Mickleover on Tuesday, kick-off 7.45pm.
