A STRETFORD primary school teacher has picked up a top award.
Beth Raggett , a teacher at St Hilda’s CE Primary School won the silver Award in the Teacher of the Year in a Primary School event.
She was selected from thousands of nominations and was one of just 76 Silver Award winners across the country and picked up her prize as the Messenger was going to press.
It is for her outstanding commitment to changing the lives of the children they work with every day.
She received the prestigious Silver Pearson National Teaching Award trophy at St Hilda’s,, here staff gathered in the hall with invited parents
A spokesman for Vantage Academies said: “She is adored by her pupils, their families, and her fellow staff members for her passion, commitment and warmth towards them all.
“She inspires a love of learning in her pupils which leads to them excelling academically, while always feeling valued as individuals.
“She tailors her lessons to meet every pupil’s needs, while ensuring that all can benefit. “
Beth is now in the running for one of just 14 Gold Awards later in the year, in a programme which will be broadcast on the BBC.
Promoters of the awards say that this is a great opportunity to celebrate the exceptional school staff who have worked wonders during an incredibly challenging time for educators across the country.
