A CAR caught fire in a Bury back street in the early hours of this morning.
Fire crews attended the incident in Back Vernon Street, Walmersley, at around 2am today.
Residents living nearby reported hearing the sound of a 'big explosion'.
However, a spokesman from Bury Fire Station said this sound was likely due to a tyre bursting on the burning car.
