GENEROUS lottery players in Bury have raised over £1,000 for their new partner charity in a single month.

Bury Treasureline Community Lottery has generated £1,088 in recent weeks for the Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity (SuperJosh).

The cash will go directly to children and families in Bury and beyond living with childhood brain tumours and post-surgery disabilities.

Tom Quayle, business development manager at Bury Treasureline, said he was delighted the lottery was supporting and working with SuperJosh.

He added: "Dawn and the SuperJosh team do a fantastic job supporting poorly children and their families and we couldn’t think of a better cause to work with.

"I’d like to thank each member taking part in the Bury Treasureline Community Lottery as they are directly contributing to this fantastic cause and many other Bury good causes.”

The Treasureline lottery was created more than 30 years ago to support Bury FC’s community and player development programmes, and has raised thousands of pounds over the decades.

Not only does Treasureline help to raise funds for good causes, but members can also take part in a £1 per week draw, which has £1000s in cash prizes up for grabs every week.

In addition, there are a host of none cash prizes from local partners, such as cinema tickets and restaurant meals, as well as match tickets to watch Bury AFC in their inaugural season.

Dawn Fidler, chief executive of SuperJosh, thanked Bury Treasureline and everyone who has taken in the lottery.

“The total raised in the first month is just incredible," she added.
