THE Weaverham Trust are back in action and taking part in Keep Britain Tidy's Great September Clean campaign.

The Trust are keen to recruit as many volunteers as possible and would be grateful for the support of local residents for the even on Saturday, September 19.

Catherine Gregory, local resident and trust member, said: "The Weaverham Wombles have come out of hibernation and we are back supporting the Great British September Clean.

"We are following guidance provided by Keep Britain Tidy to ensure we litter pick in the safest way possible including the use of gloves, maintaining social distancing at the start and end of the event when equipment is handed out/collected.

"Disinfected litter picks, hi-viz vests and bin bags will be provided. Please bring your own gloves, disposable gloves will be available on request.

"All equipment is sanitised and anti-bacterial spray and hand sanitisers will be available on the day."

The group will be meeting in Withens Lane at 10.30am, opposite Lakehouse Field.
