THE owner of a bar which will soon neighbour an artisan market hall is excited to see what the future brings.

Signs are in place ahead of the launch of 20 London Road at the former J&S Motorcycles unit near Waitrose.

It is billed as an Altrincham Market-style hall with food and drink vendors, and its website suggests an opening later this year.

Joe Wardle, owner of The Salthouse NW at Hayhurst Quay, believes 20 London Road will be a welcome addition to both the area and Northwich as a whole.

He told the Guardian: "It is fantastic – we could not have asked for anything more.

"You have only got to look at Altrincham and other places that have got these markets. It is going to bring more and more people to town.

"It could be great for us – we are going to be the first bar people will see when they come out of it.

"I am really looking forward to it, I think it is going to be a great addition."

The Salthouse NW first opened its doors in 2017 and returned from lockdown earlier this month with social distancing measures in place.

Joe is pleased with how the return to business has gone and to welcome customers back through the door again.

"Everyone has been great, they all expect that things are a bit different at the moment, but the feedback has been great.

"Our regulars keep us going through rain or shine, especially now, so it has been great to see familiar faces again.

"They were even happier for us to return than we were – they have been eager to get back out again."
