ONE of Bradford on Avon’s best known and most popular pubs has collapsed into administration along with three other pubs.
A notice on the Castle Inn website advises customers who have paid for services or goods and are seeking refunds to contact them.
The pub’s owners and operators, Country Pub Group Ltd, appear to have been hit by the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic lockdown after being forced to close in March.
The Castle Inn collapsed on Friday , along with the company’s three other pubs: the
The Battleaxes in Wraxall in Somerset, The Mendip Inn at Shepton Mallet, and The Temple Inn at Temple Cloud.
Locals were quick to voice their sadness, with one saying "that's a shame, the food in there was lovely", while another said "so sad, loved the place".
There is now speculation that a brewery company is interested in acquiring the pub from the joint administrators, Steven John Parker and Trevor John Binyon, of Opus Restructuring LLP of Milton Keynes.
Their notice posted on the Castle Inn website said: “If you have made a deposit for or paid for goods or services by credit or debit card and the goods or services are not going to be received by the due date, you may be able to get your money back by claiming a refund from your card issuer.
“Please contact your card issuer as soon as you can if this may apply to you.
“Further information including on time limits that apply is available from the UK Cards Association Credit and debit cards: A consumer guide.”
