CYCLING theatre troupe The Handlebards are returning to the grounds of the Alex Moulton Charitable Trust’s The Hall in Bradford on Avon on Sunday, September 13.

They will perform a new children’s show called Gnora the Gnome’s Daytime Disco from 3-4pm, and a reimagined three-person version of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet from 7-8.30pm at the Jacobean hall.

With lockdown measures gently easing, and three members of the company living in a single household, The Handlebards decided to jump straight back to it this summer, repurposing old costumes and props, and rehearsing in their living room.

Co-artistic directors of The Handlebards, Paul Moss and Tom Dixon, said: “We’re particularly excited to showcase our first-ever children’s show for under 10s, which we co-produced with Green Submarine Theatre.

“It promises to offer classic disco tunes and gentle fun to help ease your little ones out of lockdown.

“Audience safety and enjoyment are our absolute priorities this summer, which is why we’ve drawn up careful COVID-19 safety guidelines, limiting audience capacity and clustering households or social bubbles.”

The Hall is the former home of the late Dr Alex Moulton, famed for the Moulton Bicycle and automotive suspension systems.

The Alex Moulton Charitable Trust relies heavily upon its income from events and donations from the public to enable them to care for the historic Hall, estate and collection.

This income helps to create a safe future for this significant piece of local industrial history.Tickets for both shows are on sale now at www.moultontrust.org/whats-on
