TWO arrests were made after police were called to a large scale brawl at a pub on Friday night.
Cheshire Police received reports of a ‘large disturbance’ at the Saracens Head on Wilderspool Causeway shortly before 11.30pm on July 31.
A teenager and a man were allegedly assaulted inside the premises, suffering minor injuries.
Officers attended the scene, but several people believed to be involved in the area had fled.
They later arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of a range of offences, including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, while a 32-year-old woman was held on suspicion of assault and being drunk and disorderly.
Both have since been given conditional cautions.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Shortly before 11.30pm on Friday, July 31, police were called to reports of a large disturbance outside a pub on Wilderspool Causeway.
“An 18-year-old man and a 46-year-old local man had been assaulted inside the pub by a man.
“They suffered injuries which are believed to be minor.
“Officers attended to find a number of people had fled the scene.
“A short time later, a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault, drunk and disorderly behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm and a 32-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly and common assault.
“The pair, both from Warrington, were taken to custody and subsequently issued conditional cautions.”
