A FIRE at a disused building in Winnington Hill on Wednesday evening is being treated as deliberate.
Firefighters from Northwich, Middlewich and Lymm spent three hours at the scene from 4.50pm, where the fire is believed to have started on the first floor of the detached two-storey building.
Wearing breathing apparatus, they used a hose reel jet, covering jet and a seven metre ladder to tackle the fire and damp it down.
Crews continued to damp down the area in the evening to ensure it did not reignite, and they cut away the affected areas.

They also removed roof tiles with the assistance of the aerial ladder platform.
A thermal imaging camera was used to check the temperature of the building.
The road reopened shortly before 8pm when the incident was closed and firefighters left the scene.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed on Thursday that it is treating the incident as deliberate.

A spokesman told the Guardian: "An investigation into the cause of the fire has now taken place.
"The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
"Anyone with information on the fire should contact police on 101, quoting IML 766602."
