KNUTSFORD families are being invited to take part in a national family fun safari story trail to help support NHS charities and give families a safe reason to return to the town centre.

The trail launches on August 14, when families will be invited to search the streets for 10 cute and colourful Monster Heroes displayed in shop windows.

Using only smartphones, the safari allows you to learn each of the Monster Hero’s name, story and superpowers.

Once all 10 are found a free e-book that tells the story of their first team-up adventure will be unlocked.

Knutsford Guardian:

The safari works by using contactless NFC technology and QR codes; without the need for players to download or sign up to anything, they simply need to tap or scan to play.

The safari aims to bring some sort of normality back to high streets and help increase Knutsford town centre footfall while ensuring the safety of the public.

More than 100 BIDs and councils across the UK are taking part in the Monster Hero Safari project, which has been sponsored by Wild in Art, with the aim of raising more than £100,000 for NHS Charities Together.

Knutsford Guardian:

Sandra Curties, town centre and marketing officer, said: “We are really excited about this event coming to Knutsford.

“It is a great interactive event for families who can enjoy the trail as well as enjoy all Knutsford has to offer.

“You can take part from August 14 until September 30, giving everyone plenty of time and space to take part.

“It only costs £2 per family and any additional donations go straight to NHS charities.”

Co-ordinating the national project is Martin Blackwell, former CEO of ATCM and the Charity Retail Association.

Knutsford Guardian:

He said “When I heard about the concept I knew I had to support it.

“I loved the idea of heroes and the idea of a safari on the high street.

“I thought if something fun like this can help make families feel good about going back out onto the high street and raise money for such a worthy cause, then let’s go for it.”
