THE first Warrington Running Festival has been postponed due to coronavirus.
The event was set to take place in September and feature races over half marathon distance, 10k and 5k in and and around the town centre.
It replaced the English Half Marathon which was cancelled just before the 2019 event was due to take place.
Organisers of the new festival say the first event will now take place on Sunday, September 26.
A spokesman said "It is with a heavy heart that we have had to postpone our inaugural Warrington Running Festival (scheduled to take place on Sunday 20th September 2020) to Sunday 26th September 2021.
"If you were entered into this race, please check your emails (and junk mail). Please email info@warringtonrunningfestival.com if you have any questions.
"Thank you for your patience and understanding with us during this uncertain and unprecedented time."
