ONE lane of the A556 towards Chester has been reopened following a crash near The Blue Cap in Sandiway.
Both lanes had been closed on the westbound carriageway between Norley Road and Dalefords Lane since 3.10pm.
One lane has now reopened while highways workers repair street lighting following the collision.
An image posted on Twitter by Northwich Police shows the aftermath of the crash, with a blue Ford Fiesta appearing to have hit a lamppost in the central reservation.
Drivers are being asked to find an alternative route if possible and are being warned to expect delays in the area.
