NURSES, doctors, midwives and physiotherapists were treated to free haircuts at Toni and Guy in Knutsford on Sunday.

Franchise partner Ann-Marie Baker and her team donated 30 cut and blow dries to local NHS workers part of a company-wide initiative.

The event was promoted on social media and at local hospitals, and was fully booked.

“We had quite a lot of nurses in, some intensive care nurses, doctors, a couple of physiotherapists and a few midwives, which was nice,” said Ann-Marie.

“It was such a lovely day. They were all so nice, and had their pictures taken under the balloons we put up.

“All the staff worked for free, and were all excited to come in.

“They were all new clients, and were telling us stories. They were really lovely people.

“It was fully booked, and we had people ringing up trying to get in.

“Toni and Guy has started the Share the Kindness campaign, where clients and the public can nominate someone who has been badly affected by the pandemic for a free haircut.

“Some of our regulars have contacted us about people they know who have been badly affected, so we have been gifting a few haircuts, and will continue to do that.”

A company spokesman said: “Participating salons joined together to show appreciation to frontline NHS and care workers by offering complimentary cut and style services to say thank you for everything they have done and continue to do.”
