FITNESS facility owner Jack Curr is looking forward to welcoming his members back for the first time tomorrow in more than three months.

Jack owns JWC Health and Fitness at Holmes Chapel, and will be offering a full service along with a series of hygiene measures to enable everyone to keep safe.

Jack said the business was able to open safely in part because the 6,000 square feet of floor area at JWC offered ample space for social distancing.

“We are fortunate to have a good amount of space, with high ceilings and good air flow,” he said.

“We have had to adapt for social distancing and hygiene, and people will be asked to sanitise on entering and leaving, and to bring their own mats and towels with them so that there is no shared equipment.

“However, most of the onus is on us as coaches to plan the sessions in a way that is safe and keeps people socially distanced.”

He said it had been a frustrating few months with JWC being closed, but the closure had allowed him time to undertake a lot of work to develop the business.

He said: “In addition we have been doing a lot during lockdown online giving people home workouts, and have been speaking to our members on a regular basis.

“All our members are coming back, and I’m totally confident about the business long term; we just need to make up for lost time.

Knutsford Guardian:

“I believe the fitness industry is going to see a big spike in the coming months.

“It’s been brought to our attention that a number of gyms around Holmes Chapel have been forced to remain closed due to social distancing guidelines.

“We are extremely lucky to have a vast amount of open floor space allowing us to operate following strict Covid-safe guidelines.

“I appreciate that many people are loyal to their gym, and can’t wait to get back to where they feel most comfortable.

“Which is why we have decided to offer zero-contract memberships, meaning that you can move back to your gym as soon as they’re ready to take you back.”
