GYM goers can get back to their workouts on Saturday – and plenty of changes have been made to keep it safe.

LiveWire is reopening hubs at Orford, Great Sankey and Woolston for the first time since March.

And staff have been busy making sure the sites meet new Government guidelines.

Gym equipment has been spaced out across the sites with all pieces at least two metres apart.

Different rooms are in use with the function suite in Orford, for example, becoming a makeshift gym area.

Rigorous cleaning will take place with regular 30-minute shutdown between sessions to give a deeper clean.

And group exercise classes will be in sports hall to ensure social distancing.

Signs are in place to guide people around the buildings.

LiveWire plans to open the pools at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub, from Monday, August 10.

All sessions will require pre-booking.

Kev Forrester, commercial director, said staff can't wait to welcome people back.

He added: "We are really looking forward to reopening our doors.

"All of the equipment has been adequately spaced out. We have repurposed some of our other spaces in the buildings to make sure we can keep at least 90 per cent of our equipment in use to make sure we can cope with demand.

"We have got kit in the studio and the function suite. Classes are in sports halls to maximise the number of people we can get in."

Emma Hutchinson, managing director of LiveWire, said: "We consider ourselves and our customers a community, united in improving the physical and mental wellbeing of Warrington, something which is even more important than ever.

"We eagerly await being able to continue on this journey, even if things will be different than we are all used to.We're confident the Covid-secure changes we are putting in place will allow people to safely enjoy the benefits that physical exercise brings.

"I'd like to thank our customers for their patience and loyal support during the months we have been closed, as well as Warrington Borough Council and our partners for their continued support."
