THE new Innox Market opens its gates for the first time in Trowbridge on Sunday, welcoming shoppers onto the former car park of the old Bowyers site to browse around 30 stalls, selling everything from crafts and treats to food and drink.

Running from 10am-4pm, the market has been planned to keep visitors and stallholders safe, with one-way direction signs and hand sanitiser. Face masks are not compulsory as its an outdoor event, though organisers know some people will prefer to wear one.

“As with all markets we run, we aim to bring producers and crafters together, creating artisan markets that have a great atmosphere, while offering something different for shoppers,” added Steve Dewaulder, owner of The Anonymous Travellers Market.

Jonathan Dean, director of Innox Mills, said: "It is our ambition to eventually make the market a permanent weekly fixture within the historic mills building and warehouses, with a big emphasis on food and drink and with outdoor play areas for children.

“We hope this new and exciting quarter will play a role in encouraging people to spend the day in Trowbridge. We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors to our new market and helping to show the town off as a great place to live, work and visit.”

Innox Mills is also opening Cinema Retrow in August, the town's first ever drive-in movie. Online booking is open now at www.cinema-retrow.co.uk for car spaces, with hot dogs and burgers from local street food provider, JC’s Kitchen, served by rollerblading waiters and waitresses.

Cinema Retrow will run from 7-9 August, with a programme of 13 feature film screenings of some all-time greats, family classics and newer favourites. Due to be shown are: Friday August 7, Toy Story 2, Grease, Knives out; Saturday August 8, Moana, The Lion King, Back to the Future, Joker; Sunday August 9, How to train Your Dragon, Finding Nemo, Dirty Dancing, Rocketman.

Cinema Retrow's charity partner is Wiltshire Air Ambulance, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance Fundraising Manager Des Regan said: "We’re very grateful that Cinema Retrow has chosen to support the lifesaving work of Wiltshire Air Ambulance. The drive-in events at Innox Mills in Trowbridge will be a brilliant opportunity for people to go out and enjoy the cinema again at a safe social distance. I’m sure it will prove extremely popular with the people of Wiltshire.”

Three hundred new homes are planned for Innox Mills, with a planning application due to be put forward in the coming months.

Future plans also being explored include an independent cinema and a co-workspace hub.
