A MOTORBIKE travelling at 100mph was one of several speeding drivers stopped in a police operation.
Officers from the Dorset Police No Excuse team stopped several motorbikes, an Audi A3, a BMW X1 and a VW Polo on the Upton Bypass and Dorset Way last night.
One motorbike was recorded at 70mph going over a roundabout at Old Wareham Road and the BMW driver stopped on the Dorset Way said he was late for work and had five minutes to get to Branksome.
Most drivers said sorry with one telling officers: "Sorry, I didn't look at the speedometer."
A spokesman for No Excuse said: "We think all the drivers stopped will slow down, as they now understand a bit better about the consequences of speeding."
