AN engine oil leak is believed to have caused a car fire on the M6 on Thursday night.
Three fire engines were sent out to the incident on the northbound carriageway between junction 19 for Knutsford and 20 for Lymm at 9.33pm.
The fire was out by the time crews from Knutsford, Lymm and Stockton Heath arrived on the scene.
Firefighters spent 15 minutes making the car safe before leaving the incident in the hands of the police and Highways England.
