THE group behind a brand-new day nursery in Winnington Village has revealed when the facility will open.

Kids Planet Day Nurseries was given the green light by Cheshire West and Chester Council’s planning department last month after revealing how the Winnington nursery will look.

The purpose-built nursery will be located in the ‘village centre’, which also has a Co-op supermarket that opened earlier this year and will soon have a Domino’s Pizza takeaway.

And Kids Planet has announced that its Winnington Village nursery will open its doors in September 2021.

It is registered for 133 places, will cater for babies from six weeks to pre-school age and will create 40 new jobs in the area.

In revealing the news, Clare Roberts, CEO of Kids Planet Day Nurseries, said: “We are delighted to be to opening a brand-new and purpose-built nursery in Winnington.

“Winnington was a perfect location for the Kids Planet family to expand and we look forward to being part of the local community there.”

The nursery will provide four separate spaces for children aged up to two years, children aged two to three, and youngsters aged three to five.

The setting will also include a state-of-the-art sensory room to enhance learning and play, as well as allowing each age group to have direct access to their own large outdoor play area.

Children's security will be provided with boundary treatment at the play areas, plus a 2.2-metre wall at the north-western edge of the premises closest to the nearest houses, and CCTV will be in operation.

CWAC has previously given outline planning permission for a further five food or retail units and a community centre, while a pub is expected to follow in the second phase of the centre.

The nursery will be the 53rd setting to open as part of the family-owned Kids Planet group, which runs other sites in Middlewich, Warrington and Frodsham.
