Golfers in Wirral can now request to have their Invigor8 memberships reinstated to reduce the cost of playing at municipal courses.

Memberships will be reinstated on the understanding that players will not be able to access any other Invigor8 facilities other than golf courses until further notice.

Invigor8 memberships also include access to indoor gyms, swimming pools and fitness classes which are not able to reopen at this time.

Players can now request to have their membership reinstated from July 20 by emailing Wirral Leisure on bookingsandinformation@wirral.gov.uk.

Memberships will remain at £34.00 a month (Inclusive: 7 day), £29 (Plus: Monday-Friday) or £25 (Corporate: Monday-Friday) and will also be available to new members who want to only play golf until other facilities can open safely.

After municipal courses reopened last month, hundreds of players have safely returned to the golf course but have had to ‘pay to play’ after Invigor8 memberships were frozen at the start of lockdown.

Cllr Julie McManus, Wirral’s Cabinet Member for Community Services, said: “We appreciate how patient Invigor8 members have been while we work to bring back the services they love.

“By allowing golfers to voluntarily reinstate their Invigor8 memberships, we are offering players greater value for their money and the chance to play the sport they love as often as they like.”

Players must continue to follow the safety guidelines introduced when the courses reopened to protect both players and staff.

They include:
• Tee times are limited to a maximum of four players. Players from separate households must remain 2m apart.
• Tee times will be available Monday – Sunday, 9am - 6.30pm.
• The course will remain closed outside of these hours for customers wanting to start their game.
• Golfers must not come to the course without booking a tee time online first.
• Junior members must be accompanied by an adult.

The guidelines can be downloaded in full on the Wirral Leisure website and should be read thoroughly by players before arriving to play.
