A 34-YEAR-OLD man arrested after a woman was rescued from an embankment and taken to hospital has been released without charge.
Police were called out to reports of a woman falling off a wall and onto a path in a wooded area in Castle Street at 8.33pm on Sunday, July 5.
Firefighters from Northwich and Lymm attended the scene 20 minutes later and found the woman three metres down a steep embankment.
The woman was assessed by paramedics and rescued by police and firefighters using specialist climbing equipment before being taken to hospital by ambulance.
Officers arrested a 34-year-old man who was at the scene.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said the man was 'helping police establish the circumstances' before he was released without further action today, July 6.
Part of Chesterway was closed by police while emergency services were at the scene.
