A MAN charged with sexually assaulting a care home resident was released on bail.
Dylan Birkett, 20, is due to appear in court after he was charged with four offences, including sexual touching and inciting a person to engage in sexual activity.
He is alleged to have committed the offences at St Georges Nursing Home in Barrow towards the end of last year.
Police confirmed he was released on bail and will appear at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on August 17. Officers said on Monday the defendant had been remanded in custody ahead of the court appearance but have since clarified that he has in fact been released on bail.
He has been charged with engaging in sexual activity with a person with a mental disorder, wilfully neglecting a person without capacity, inciting sexual activity with a person with a mental disorder assault by beating. His address was listed as Marsh Street in Barrow.
