A MUCH-loved 104-year-old was treated like royalty on her special birthday.

Moulton resident Mrs W was waited on hand and foot in her home by caregivers from Home Instead Senior Care Northwich.

Mrs W was joined by two of her caregivers who celebrated her special day with her, surprising her with a delicious carrot cake to enjoy and big pink balloons.

They also helped her to set up a FaceTime video call with her family in Scotland, took her for a special birthday picnic and went with her to see the ducks on the river.

Mrs W has always been a keen painter, with many of her own beautiful paintings on display around her house.

They take pride and place alongside trophies from her days of being part of the Women's Institute team for bowls – one of her favourite pastimes.

Amanda Bell, senior caregiver at Home Instead, said: “Mrs W is an amazing woman.

“She is strong and independent, with a beautiful personality.

“She enjoys a good giggle, adores having company and loves being treated like the queen she is with breakfast in bed.”

Michelle Lawson, registered care manager, added: “Mrs W has been part of the Home Instead family since 2014.

“I am delighted we can continue to support her in the same community she has known for so many years.

“Even at 104 years old, Mrs W loves getting out and about for journeys in the car with her caregivers to see local scenery.

“On her birthday, our team visited Mrs W with her favourite carrot cake and balloons, which she was ever so thankful for.

“She is a lovely lady who is full of character and is so very grateful for her long life.”
