A FORMER navy nurse and her brother are now living in their dream family home thanks to help from Barratt Homes.

Janet Clark, 58, and Andrew Stanley, 56, were eager to stop renting and find a bigger property more suitable for them.

Barratt provided special measures and adapted to social distancing to ensure that the family’s move went ahead as planned, and they have now made the move to Imperial Park II in Winnington.

Their new home also offers extra accessibility to theim mum Florence, 91, to whom they are both carers.

Northwich Guardian:

“My brother and I are first-time buyers and we wanted somewhere that we would have some say in the design,” said Northwich native Janet, formerly a nurse with the Royal Navy for 11 years.

“We lived together before we bought our new house as we’re both carers for our mum.

“We also share the responsibility of our dogs Simba and Sasha, so we didn’t want the hassle of deciding who lives where.

“Living together meant that we could afford a nicer home and our mortgage is split 50/50.

“If you share similar ideas and have a happy, agreeable relationship, it’s just like buying a house with a partner - but I know my brother won’t suddenly walk out.”

Northwich Guardian:

As they are both key workers, Janet and warehouseman Andrew required a move that would be as swift as possible.

And this is something that they were able to achieve thanks to dedicated staff working for Barret Homes.

“We liked the look of the houses on the development and Barratt Homes was there with us every step of the way. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience,” Janet added.

“The sales advisers were waiting inside the office when we arrived and there was also a brilliant hamper box for us, which was a lovely surprise.”
