FIREFIGHTERS are returning to peatland in Marthall this morning following a fire on Monday afternoon.
Two fire engines from Macclesfield, one from Knutsford and one from Wilmslow attended the site at 4.30pm in Chelford Road.
On arrival, Crews found peatland measuring 15m by 40m well alight.
They used two hose reels were used to douse the area before checking for hotspots with a thermal imaging camera.
Having not found any hotspots at first, crews remained on the scene until the evening when four further fire hotspots were found and tackled.
Firefighters left the scene last night but are returning this morning.
