THE managing partner at Slater Heelis solicitors in Sale, is taking part in #100kMay, where he is running the equivalent of over two marathons, in an effort to raise money for the charity, Helping Uganda Schools (HUGS).

Chris Bishop from Slater Heelis, has pledged to help build a dormitory at the Little Shepherd Primary School in Rutunguru, Uganda, with the money raised.

Funds from the challenge will allow 100 girls, aged between five and 11, to have a safe learning environment, as the new dormitory will house a new study area and accommodation for the safety of staff.

Chris Bishop, managing partner at Slater Heelis solicitors said: “Hearing updates from Uganda, and how strict lockdown measures mean citizens are unable to earn the basic money they need to live, and receive any education, really puts everything into perspective.

“Working with HUGS to create a safe place for children to learn and thrive despite these terrible circumstances is such an important cause, and myself and Slater Heelis are hoping to support these school children in whatever way we can – hopefully the #100kMay will be a great start.”
