On Bank Holiday Monday, emergency services descended on Winklebury playing fields after an incident.

A 41-year-old man and a 36-year-old man were stabbed after an altercation broke out.

Hampshire Constabulary said a 16-year-old boy from Camberley in Surrey was arrested and remains in custody.

When did the incident happen?

It took place between 6.15pm and 6.40pm, according to police.

Witnesses told us they heard sirens and saw an air ambulance landing shortly after.

What happened?

Witnesses described a fight breaking out and suddenly everything "going quiet" after lots of shouting.

Police said two men were stabbed. Their injuries were serious but not life-threatening. 

They were taken to Basingstoke hospital for treatment. 

What happens now?

Police are appealing for witnesses and are urging anyone with information to call them. 

A 16-year-old boy from Camberley, Surrey, remains in police custody at this time.

He was arrested on suspicion of causing GBH with intent. 

He may be charged, released on bail or given no further action. If he is charged, he could appear in court this week.
