THE NORTHWICH RUFC COLUMN - By John Blower

DURING the current lockdown period Northwich Superstars children and their mascot Staggy have been undertaking challenges.

These have ranged from runs, and bike rides to walking with a rugby ball between knees, or completing sit-ups with a rugby ball.

And it is all to raise funds for the Superstars development in preparation for whenever their next training sessions resume.

Staggy and his mini rugby friends have been working hard and are overjoyed with the latest news that Comms-Care have taken opportunity to tackle a matter at Northwich Superstars.

Sponsorship provided by Comms-Care will furnish Northwich Superstars with vital new equipment and tackle pads, enabling our children to further develop their rugby and social skills.

With over 100 youngsters on the books, the future of the club’s superstars looks assured.

During this season 19 players representing the first team squad have made the journey from Northwich junior rugby, which is one of the highest number achieved by any club in the region.

But, like any growing successful club, we need assistance to support this growth, we need the help of local businesses.

The Superstars Mini & Junior section of the club is run on an entirely voluntary basis, from the coaches (many of whom are senior 1st XV players or parents), right through to all the various admin functions required to run a club of this size. These are all done by people who do it because they love the game and the position the club holds in the community.

Our sponsors allow us to continue providing the same quality of sports coaching to even more youngsters, girls and boys, while continuing to promote the great family values we have as a club and the rugby values in general. Our aim is to ensure our juniors love playing rugby, and love playing for Northwich.

We’ve had amazing growth last season, and are looking forward to it continuing through next season and beyond.

We value every sponsor and sponsorship opportunity very highly indeed.

Each one gives us the ability to both continue to provide the community with junior rugby, and also to continue to grow the club allowing it to offer this service to more and more local children.
