A company is recalling crisps because they contain gluten - but it is not written in English on the label.
Gima UK Ltd has been forced to recall Lay’s Maxx Deep Ridged Oriental Salsa flavoured crisp because the ingredient is not written in English on the label.
This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to barley (gluten).
The pack size which is being recalled is the 130g bag, with a best before date of June 26, 2020.
A spokesman for Food Standards Agency said: “Gima UK Ltd is recalling the above product from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.
"The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product."
