PLANS to build a permanent car showroom in Wilderspool Causeway have been approved by Warrington Borough Council.

The land, close to the junction with Gainsborough Road, has been used to sell cars many years.

However, developers wanted to construct a permanent building rather than using the portable units in place.

The application stated: “The site is currently occupied by a second hand car sales merchant.

“The lot is filled with vehicles for sale, together with portacabins and a metal clad workshop.

“Replacement of these buildings with a building of quality construction would improve the site’s appearance.”

The approved application now has permission for a car sales showroom, incorporating an ancillary office on an internal mezzanine floor.

The building will be 1.5 storeys in height.
