FIREFIGHTERS were called out to three fires in Northwich yesterday (Thursday).
Just before 4.30pm a crew was called to a report of a fire in the open in Oakwood Lane, Barnton. On arrival the crew discovered a small campfire had been left unattended.
At 4.20pm firefighters were told of a fire in a farmer's field on London Road, Davenham.
On arrival the crew discovered it was a controlled fire involving tree cuttings.
The fire measured 10 square metres, and the crew allowed the cuttings to burn under the supervision of the farmer.
The crew cooled down a nearby oak tree with a hose reel jet to make it safe.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish a small fire in the open on Manora Road, after being called just before midday.
