OFFICERS have charged a 23-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy following a string of burglaries in Northwich and Winsford.

Charlie Swann, of Deysbrook Lane, Liverpool, and the Huyton teenager who cannot be named for legal reasons both appeared at Warrington Magistrates' Court today, May 21.

Swann has been charged with four counts of burglary – including one in Mornant Avenue, Hartford, on May 8 and one in Wharton Road, Winsford, on May 19 – plus one in Runcorn and one in Liverpool.

He has also been charged with theft of a vehicle in Kensington Way, Northwich, on May 16 and attempted burglary in Nunhouse Drive, Winsford, on May 19.

Meanwhile, the 16-year-old has been charged with eight Winsford burglaries over the past year in:

  • Wharton Road on May 12, 2019 and again on May 19, 2020
  • Nixon Drive on June 15, 2019
  • Station Road on June 15, 2019
  • Walnut Drive on June 27, 2019
  • Mayfield Drive on June 30, 2019
  • Greville Drive on June 30, 2019
  • Collingtree Avenue on May 19, 2020

He has also been charged with attempted burglary in Nunhouse Drive and Rookery Rise, both in Winsford, on May 19 and another attempted burglary in Huyton on February 10.

The youngster has also been charged with theft of the same vehicle in Kensington Way and possession of cannabis, a class B drug.

Swann has been remanded in custody and is due to appear Chester Crown Court on Thursday, June 18.

The teenager has been released on conditional bail and is due to appear in Youth Court on Thursday, June 4.
