A GARDEN shed in Alderley Edge was completely destroyed following a fire on Saturday.

One fire engine from Wilmslow and another from Macclesfield were called out to Beech Close at 11.46am.

Firefighters saw that the controlled garden fire had spread to the shed, which was well alight, as well as a nearby outbuilding which sustained minor damage.

One firefighter wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to tackle the flames.

Crews then damped down the area before isolating the electric supply.

Firefighters remained at he scene for 45 minutes.
