RESIDENTS are being urged to consult a GP now if they are worried about their health.

Doctors at all five surgeries in Winsford have teamed up to mount a campaign to reassure patients that they don't have to wait until the coronavirus pandemic is over to seek help.

GPs have recorded a video encouraging people to get in touch if they have any concerns.

Dr Griffiths, a GP at Swanlow surgery, said: "We are a little worried that we are seeing less people with potentially serious problems.

"If you are worried about your health you don’t have to wait until the pandemic is over, you can call us.

"Your GP would not wish to you sit on a problem and not call only to discover later on that they could have helped."

Dr Michael Fallon, from Weavervale surgery, said: "We know things feel very different at the moment but if you ring your surgery you can arrange a phone call with a doctor. The doctor will then determine with you if your concern can be dealt with over the phone or perhaps by video. Please don't leave things that are worrying you, contact your doctor."

Although some surgeries have closed their doors, GPs are still working inside and patients just have to pick up the phone to speak to them.

Dr Selva Rasaiah, a GP at Launceston Close surgery, added: "We want to remind you that all of the doctors' surgeries in Winsford remain open.

"If you are worried about your health please call your GP. You need to help us to help you by not leaving things until they are too late."

Patients who need to be examined can still be seen.

Dr Clare Oxley, from Swanlow surgery, said: "We are still bringing people to the surgery if this is needed. When we see people face to face we are ensuring that we do this in as safe way as possible for everyone."
