POLICE are appealing for information from the public to help find a missing man from Winsford.

Michael Humphreys was reported missing from Leighton Hospital at around 7.30pm yesterday, Monday.

The 44-year-old is described as white, 6ft 1in tall, of medium build, with short grey/black hair. He was wearing a black overcoat and tracksuit bottoms.

Michael was last seen in the Middlewich Road area of Leighton, near Crewe, walking towards Winsford.

Sergeant Tom Vass said: “We are increasingly concerned for Michael’s welfare and officers are carrying out a number of enquiries in the local area in a bid to locate him.

“As part of our enquiries we’re keen to hear from anyone who has been driving in the area and believes they may have seen Michael.

“Residents living in nearby are also urged to check any sheds or outbuildings in case Michael has taken shelter.

"Anyone with any information as to where he is – or anyone who may have seen him – is urged to get in touch.”

Michael has now been found safe and well this afternoon, Tuesday.

A spokesman for Crewe Police said: "We can now confirm that the missing man from Winsford has now been located and returned to hospital. Thank you for all your help."
