ST Luke's Hospice will open its warehouse for drop-off donations next week – but only for residents passing by as part of their essential travel.

The warehouse will be open next Wednesday and Thursday for a 'drive and drop' service between 10am and 3pm.

With social distancing guidelines currently in place, the hospice is urging the public only to make the journey if they are passing by as part on an essential trip – such as going to the supermarket or for key workers on their way to work.

A spokesman for the hospice said: "Please only bring items that you know we will be able to sell when our shops reopen.

"Large amounts of non-saleable items will incur huge costs for the hospice, which will have a significant impact on the vital funds that we so desperately need in order to continue to provide care and comfort for our community.

"With this in mind, please do not be offended if we are unable to accept certain items due to the current situation.

"We will of course be observing strict social distancing practices, so please follow any instructions you are given by our team on arrival to ensure we all stay safe."

The warehouse is based at Pineapple Park, Road One, Winsford Industrial Estate.

The sales floor will not be open.
