POLICE are appealing for information following a fire in Handforth on Monday night that was believed to be deliberate.

Firefighters were called out to a small field fire in Kiln Croft Lane at 9.58pm.

One fire engine from Wilmslow attended the scene and one hose reel jet was used to tackle the blaze.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting IML 676541.

Wilmslow's fire engine was also sent out following reports of smoke in Congleton Road, Nether Alderley, at 3.29pm on Monday.

A fire involving burning hedge cuttings and wood chips was tackled with one hose reel jet.
