TWENTY years ago this week Warrington Wolves faced Bradford Bulls in the Challenge Cup semi-finals at Headingley.
It wasn't to be for Darryl Van de Velde's Wire side, losing 44-20 to a side that was among the top four that were monopolising the sport at elite level at the time.
That was Warrington's first appearance in the semi-finals for 10 years, and bizarrely they went on to meet and lose to Bulls in the last-four of the competition again the year after.
At Headingley on March 25, 2000, Steve McCurrie crossed for two tries and Ian Knott one in the heavy loss to a Bradford team that went on to win the final against Leeds 24-18 at Murrayfield.
