A PAIR of florists have shown their appreciation for NHS workers by producing an amazing floral tribute and placing it outside a Wirral hospital.

Nurses at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre were surprised to see the huge heart-shaped masterpiece taking pride of place in front of the roadsigns on the entrance to the hospital grounds on Mother’s Day.

Unaware of where it had come from, staff eventually tracked down the creators on social media.

Heather Feather & Nicola Saverimutto, who run Flower Fashion & Wedding Event styling and Flower in Oxton, were behind the spectacular tribute.

Florist Heather said: “We wanted to support NHS staff and put a smile on everyone’s faces.

“It was a really positive thing for us to do too, to divert our minds into something else, keeping us busy at this horrendous time.

“Flowers make everybody happy so we hope it helps mental health too and sends a message for anyone who is suffering, going through, survived cancer or lost their loved one through cancer.

“We just wanted to share the love and be kind.”

The cancer centre posted photos on its Facebook page prompting an overwhelmingly positive response from the group’s followers.

Wirral Globe:

Tania Owen said: “Beautiful gesture for a fantastic hospital. You cared for my husband 10 years ago. You looked after him so well with kindness and dignity. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

A spokesperson for the hospital said: “Amongst all of the uncertainty in the world right now, it really is a welcome beacon of joy and positivity. Thank you both so much.”
